VISION:

Prevention and Prohibition of Ragging In the Institution Imparting Technical Education.

MISSION:

Ragging is totally prohibited in GDMM College of Engineering and Technology, inside and / or outside the campus and anyone found guilty of ragging and / or abetting ragging whether actively or passively, or being a part of conspiracy to promote ragging, is liable to be punished in accordance with UGC Regulations 2009 as well as under the provisions of any penal law for the time being in force. GDMM College of Engineering and Technology ensures that the congenial and welcoming environment is given to the fresher’s. To achieve this objective following committee have been formed by the Institute as per UGC Regulation 2009:

PUNISHMENTS FOR RAGGING

  • Every single incident of ragging, a FIR shall be lodged without exception by the college authorities with the local police. In addition one or any combination of the following punishments can be awarded.
  • Cancellation of admission.
  • Suspension from attending classes.
  • Withholding / withdrawing scholarship / fellowship and other benefits.
  • Debarring from appearing in any test / examination or other evaluation process.
  • Withholding results.
  • Debarring from representing the institution in any regional, national or international meet, tournament, youth festival, etc.
  • Suspension / expulsion from the hostel.
  • Rustication from the institution for period ranging from 1 to 4 semesters.
  • Expulsion from the institution and consequent debarring from admission to any other institution.
  • Collective punishment: When the persons committing or abetting the crime of ragging are not identified, the institution shall resort to collective punishment as a deterrent to ensure community pressure on the potential raggers.

    Objective :
    The main objectives of this cell are as follows:

  • To aware the students of dehumanizing effect of ragging inherent in its perversity.
  • To keep a continuous watch and vigil over ragging so as to prevent its occurrence and recurrence.
  • To promptly and stringently deal with the incidents of ragging brought to our notice.
  • To generate an atmosphere of discipline by sending a clear message that no act of ragging shall be tolerated and any act of ragging shall not go unnoticed and unpunished.
  • Anti Ragging Committee’s Functions:

  • Ragging is inhuman, heinous, uncultured, unethical, immoral and unacceptable.
  • Therefore the management has taken following decision to be implemented in the college as per the Govt instructions.
  • Students are strictly warned not to resort to ragging activities in any form in the college campus.
  • The following steps are to be taken by the Anti Raging Committee:

  • If Management Notices any student involving in ragging activities, he/she will be suspended from the college.
  • Anti Ragging Committee is responsible to take action against the ragging students in the campus.
  • If any Student who is harassed by ragging he/she should immediately bring it to the notice of Anti Ragging Committee for taking immediate action.
  • Anti Ragging Committee members and senior student should take all the measures to instill confidence among the junior students.
